Are Wheelchairs available on site?
Yes! Blenheim Palace have wheelchairs and mobility scooters on site that can be pre-booked on 01993 810530 or they can be requested in person, but availability is not guaranteed. They are collected from the Access Desk at the Palace itself.
What’s the easiest way to get to the Walled Garden from the Palace if I’m in a wheelchair or have limited mobility and don’t drive?
You can take the miniature train! From the main car park to the station area, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp at the train station, which is just by the Palace main car park, and it’s plenty wide enough for wheelchair access as the train has capacity for one wheelchair user per trip. Unfortunately, the train is unable to take mobility scooters on board. Once you reach the Walled Garden station, the access is level there too.
I’m a wheelchair user and want to know if I can experience the whole of the show?
Absolutely! The route around the show is level but there are some areas where the ground may be a little uneven. Our Front of House staff will be on hand to make sure you can travel through that area safely. They will also guide you through an alternative route if you find anything that doesn’t make you comfortable. Our team of Front of House staff and Beatrix Potter will be made aware if you are joining us today so that we can assist you the best we can.
Is there any part of the show I should be aware of as a physically disabled person?
As we say, part of the ground may be a little uneven, but our staff are onsite to assist. There is also part of the show where the audience move through a dark tunnel. Whilst this tunnel is wide enough for a wheelchair user, if you feel unsure then one of our team will assist you through to the next location of our show.
Can I access the Peter Rabbit™ Farm Shop if I am in a wheelchair or have limited mobility?
Yes. There is level access into the Peter Rabbit™ Farm Shop and the doors are wide enough for a wheelchair or mobility scooter to fit through.
I have a child with Autism/Aspergers and may need to take some time out and be somewhere quiet. Is this possible?
Yes. If you need to leave the show for any reason just Beatrix Potter know and she will alert a Front of House Assistant who will look after you. We have a quiet area where you can sit with your child until you feel ready to carry on with your day.
What happens if there is an emergency and we have to evacuate?
We hope that this won’t arise, but if it does don’t worry at all. Our Front of House staff are fully trained to help you in this situation and will look after you all the way to our assembly point. If we restart shows, they will also assist you back to where you were.
Are there accessible toilets on site?
Yes. There are accessible toilets opposite The Peter Rabbit™ Farm Shop. There are also accessible toilets in the main palace.
Am I allowed to bring my service dog?
Please do! Blenheim Palace does allow assistance and support dogs only onto their property and provide water for the dogs in the East Courtyard of the main palace. There is a water bowl for dogs outside the Pizza Café in the Walled Garden area.
